World Premiere
Performed by Debbie Allen Dance Academy

Exploding onto the stage in a fusion of dance, music, cinema and theatre, this world premiere performance will bring the passion and pain of Los Angeles’ toughest streets to Brisbane.

Directed, choreographed and written by three-time Emmy award-winning choreographer Debbie Allen, Freeze Frame will blow audiences away with 'break the floor' dance moves, soulful voices and the untold true story of how art, dance and music can transform lives.

Debbie Allen’s illustrious career extends from her legendary role as Lydia Grant in Fame, and has seen her direct and choreograph for Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Lena Horne and Sammy Davis Junior, as well as appearing as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance (USA) and directing and starring in Grey’s Anatomy.

Freeze Frame features a powerful musical component led by music director Rickey Minor, whose credits include American Idol, the Grammy Awards and working on numerous superstar tours including Christina Aguilera, Ray Charles and Beyoncé. The score features new music from the great Stevie Wonder along with James Ingram and other artists and seamlessly bounces between hip-hop, soul, gospel and R&B.
