Brisbane Festival and The Courier-Mail in association with Arts Projects Australia present

Queensland Premiere

Circolombia (Colombia/United Kingdom)

Unleashing a force of energy to the very last seat and back, Circolombia’s new show URBAN is sure to continue its sell out run from Colombia to Paris and now here in Brisbane.

A true circus from the streets of Cali, Colombia, URBAN reveals a city of joy and violence where dance and music are the safety valves of everyday life.

Raw, sung live and set against a pounding soundtrack infused with reggaeton and Latin hip hop, URBAN features volcanic, wild, but perfectly mastered acrobatics for all ages.

With a real story to tell, URBAN is at the forefront of a revolutionary new style of circus. A true narrative of the street, URBAN presents a soundtrack of young people in motion, determined to tell the story of their upbringing. These artists are telling the world what it is like in their reality, through their eyes, through their ears, and through their voices.

Awarded Best Circus Show of Adelaide Fringe 2013, this highly acclaimed show is premiering in Queensland, after its run of sell out shows from London, New York, Paris, Rio De Janeiro, Sydney, Buenos Aires and many European Capitals.

Duration: 75 minutes
This production contains strobe lighting and haze.

Urban was originally commissioned by Roundhouse London as part of CircusFest.

Online ticket sales cease two hours prior to a performance. All remaining tickets can be purchased from The Courier-Mail Piazza box office.
